Complexo Balnear da Ribeira de Sao Jorge is a charming location in São Jorge, along a riverside, which offers good facilities, lifeguard surveillance, three seawater pools, a lagoon, a children’s play area, a snack bar and a restaurant. There is access to the sea but not advisable for swimming, due to the roughness of the waves, but great for experienced surfers or body boarders.

Complexo Balnear da Ribeira do Faial is a very popular complex, with excellent water quality. Located North East of the Island, with great facilities such as a protected pebble beach, children’s pool and play area, changing rooms, lifeguard surveillance, restaurant and snack bar. It also offers a variety of sports activities. From this beach, on a clear day, it’s possible to see Porto Santo.

Praia da Lagoa Porto da Cruz is located on the north coast of the island and probably has the best sandy beach in the north. This complex has a black sandy beach, great for swimming, newly renovated sundeck with good access to sea, lifeguard surveillance during the summer and is very popular with surfers. It offers good facilities such as changing rooms; children’s play area, snack bar and restaurant.

Piscinas do Porto da Cruz is an excellent pool complex situated north east of the Island near Praia da Lagoa. This modern complex offers good facilities, one large seawater pool and a children’s pool. It also has lifeguard surveillance and nearby Restaurants and Bars.
