Santo da Serra

Santo Antonio da Serra is characterized by its extraordinary beautiful scenery, popular for its natural environment of romantic inspiration, provided by the lush vegetation and pleasant climate, attracting many visitors.

Since 1933 Golf was practiced in the lands of the Hotel-Pousada da Serra, then in 1988 a new Golf course was constructed, designed by the famous North American architect Robert Trent Jones.
The spectacular views of the mountains and its prestige location make Santo da Serra a fantastic place favored by many professional Golfers and the home of the Madeira Island Open where it was played for the first time in January 1993 (PGA European Tour). It is now hosted every year in March.
